The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) released its draft Greenhouse Gas Pollution Standard to ensure that climate impacts are considered when decisions are made about spending more than $2.5 billion in annual state transportation funding. With this rule in place, CDOT and local transportation planning organizations across the state will be required—for the first time—to account for the greenhouse gas emission impacts of state and regional transportation planning.
Policymakers at the Department of Transportation have a unique opportunity to put Colorado on the national map to better account for greenhouse gas emissions, increase the number of EVs and reduce how much we drive – all things that will help CLEAN THE AIR.
The Colorado Department of Transportation will be making their decision in the next few months, so it is important that they hear now from you.
