Opinion: Transition Colorado’s school buses to electric

“We have the money. We have the leadership. All we have to lose is the toxic diesel exhaust,” writes Alexandra Simon, advocate for the Colorado Public Interest Research Group, in a recent opinion article published in the Coloradan Sun.

“The benefits of electric school buses are real and already being felt in two Colorado locations: Boulder and Kremmling. At an event we hosted in the fall, Landon Hilliard, the safe routes program coordinator for the Boulder Valley School District, cited lower maintenance and fuel costs— and a very quiet ride! — as the top benefits,” says Simon.
